About This Service

The Gondola itself is the easy part. The queue beforehand is where most people's morning actually falls apart, especially in peak season when the ticket counter line can stretch well past what anyone expected before breakfast. We built this service around solving that one problem.

Pickup from Srinagar is timed early enough to reach Gulmarg before the ticket counters get busy, and our drivers know the current queue situation most mornings, since they are making this run constantly. If Phase 1 is backed up but Phase 2 is moving, we tell you before you are standing in the wrong line.

This works as a single day trip from Srinagar, gondola ride included, or as a stop within a longer multi day Kashmir circuit. Either way, the vehicle and driver stay with you for the full day, not just the drop and pickup.

Duration is typically a full day out and back from Srinagar, though some travellers extend it with an overnight stay in Gulmarg for a slower pace. Tell us which you prefer and we will plan around it.

Phase 1 Or Phase 2, Know Before You Queue

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Kashmir Car Rental Tariff?

Drivers Who Track The Queue, Not Just The Route

Our drivers make this run often enough to have a real sense of which mornings are busiest and when Phase 2 tickets are moving faster than Phase 1.

Early Pickup Planned Around The Gondola, Not Convenience

We set the pickup time to beat the queue, not to suit our own schedule, since that is the entire point of booking ahead.

Vehicles Suited To The Climb

An SUV handles the Srinagar to Gulmarg road more comfortably than a sedan, and we will recommend the right fit based on your group and the season.

Transparent Tariffs

Clear pricing for the transfer, shared upfront so nothing catches you off guard. The Gondola ticket itself is paid separately and explained clearly.

Eighteen Plus Years Across This Region

Long enough to know Gulmarg's rhythms well, which mornings get crowded and which stay manageable.

What To Know Before You Go

Altitude And Cold

Phase 2 sits at a genuinely high altitude, and temperatures there can be sharply colder than Srinagar even in warmer months. Pack layers regardless of season.

Ticket Counter Timing

Counters tend to get busiest between mid morning and early afternoon. An early start is the single biggest factor in avoiding a long wait.

Weather Dependent Operation

The Gondola occasionally pauses in poor weather. We check conditions before departure and will flag this if it affects your plan.

Combining With Other Gulmarg Spots

Golf course views and the meadow itself are worth a short walk if you have time beyond the Gondola ride alone.

The best service ever received! They helped in planning the trip. Offered lots of good options for hotel and house boat at discounted rate. They were available every time for the queries. The driver was polite and helpful. The vehicle was in good condition. The driver was very knowledgeable about all good places — be it eating points, or important shops like places where original cricket bats are made, where we can get original dry fruits, pashmina shawl etc. Unlike other travel packages using this provided us the complete flexibility of doing changes and checking out new places. We could call them at night 9pm and they were responsive. They made this family trip with parents, a completely wonderful experience! Must recommend!

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How early should we leave Srinagar to beat the Gondola queue?

Typically a departure between 6 and 7 in the morning gives the best shot at a short wait, especially during peak season between May and September.

Do we need both Phase 1 and Phase 2 tickets, or just one?

That depends on how far you want to go. Phase 1 alone covers good views, while Phase 2 takes you higher with more dramatic scenery, and both are ticketed separately.

Is the Gondola ticket included in the cab price?

No, the cab transfer and the Gondola ticket are priced separately, and we explain both clearly before you book.

Can this trip be combined with other Gulmarg sightseeing?

Yes, the meadow and golf course views are easy to add on if you have extra time beyond the ride itself.

Does the Gondola operate year round?

Yes, though it occasionally pauses in poor weather, and Phase 2 in particular can be affected by heavy snow or wind. We check conditions before your departure.

Should we book an SUV or is a sedan fine for this trip?

An SUV handles the Srinagar to Gulmarg road more comfortably, though a sedan works in clear weather for smaller, budget focused groups.
