Kashmir Offbeat Tour

A good number of our travellers come to us on their second or third Kashmir trip, having already covered Dal Lake, Gulmarg and Pahalgam on an earlier visit. This tour is for them, and for anyone who would simply rather spend a week somewhere quieter from the start.

Doodhpathri and Yusmarg sit within easy reach of Srinagar, green meadows that barely register on most tourist itineraries simply because the well known names crowd them out. Gurez Valley is a different scale of offbeat entirely, close to the Line of Control, reached by a genuinely long drive, and rewarding exactly because so few people make the trip.

We do not treat these as one uniform route. Doodhpathri and Yusmarg work well as day trips out of Srinagar, while Gurez needs its own dedicated stretch of days, including the travel time in and out. How we combine them depends entirely on how many days you have and how far you want to push it.

Local knowledge matters more on this kind of trip than on a standard circuit, since fewer of these roads are well signed or heavily travelled. Our drivers have covered these routes often enough to know current conditions, not just what a map suggests.
