Day six substitutes Kokernag at roughly 70 kilometres and Verinag at roughly 78 kilometres for a second high altitude day. Both are landscaped spring gardens with level walkways, and they sit on the same southern axis so the day does not zigzag.

The Ladakh corridor is only workable because of the dates. The Zojila Pass typically opens between late April and May and closes around November, subject to snow clearance each year. In February this itinerary would be impossible.
Srinagar to Leh is roughly 420 kilometres and is a two-day drive, not a single push. Anyone quoting it as a day run has not driven it.
Doodhpathri on day four is the second visit choice. The group has seen Pahalgam before, and a quiet meadow day is a better use of the slot than a repeat.
What the length buys them
